Strange Garden for schools and galleries

Picture
When working in schools and galleries we focus on the learning more, and have time to go fully through the creative process.
For this I run 2 x 2hr workshops per day for 20 students per session. I need one artist/volunteer helper for this, if it's a school group this could be the teacher. We talk about the difference between 2D and 3D art, we talk about abstraction and representation, and the difference between a pattern and a picture. Then we do a bit of observational drawing (outside or inside) as a warm up and also to gather some patterns we will draw before going on to construct the sculptures.
In these sessions we can build a larger variety of shapes, from very simple to multi piece shapes, as we are able to give more help to the students. This can be from a one day engagement to any amount of time.
The picture above is from a one day outing to Ararat Performing Art Centre (2016).
